Radical Mental Health First Aide is a mutual aid centred resource made with you in mind. RMHFA asks;
What if crisis support was a community effort?
What if care didn’t have to happen in private?
What if we knew how to offer care sooner and more intentionally?
This workshop will offer trauma-informed, embodied and consent focused tools to help you navigate support for yourself and others experiencing stressors and mental health crisis.
❋ Learning De-escalation StrategiesLearn from an experienced psychotherapist and trauma informed care provider how to de-escalate a crisis and how to offer a diversity of support
❋ Interrogate what constitutes a CrisisHow often do we jump to a crisis before we’ve checked in with the person experiencing it? Who taught us that and why?
❋ Gain & Share Non-Carceral Resources, Tips and ToolsLearn and share non-carceral resources you know of, and give yourself and your community the opportunity to gain support in diverse ways!
❋ Discuss how ableism can show up in "care"Led by experienced guides who know how to hold space, encourage participation, and keep things moving with purpose.
❋ Pay-what-you-can!Rates start at $30 (ZAR 493) and go up to a full value of $100 (ZAR 1644).
❋ A Space to Practice Care We’ll have a couple scenarios to practice care and troubleshoot how we offer it in real time!
